The Bloomsbury Woodwind Ensemble
      Events 2008 / 2009

The Bloomsbury Woodwind Ensemble was founded in 1993 by the musician, composer, and inventor of the ‘Lyons C Clarinet’ Graham Lyons.

The ensemble provides adult amateur woodwind players with the opportunity to promote and develop their musical ability and ensemble skills in a relaxed and informal setting, to build a varied repertoire of woodwind ensemble music, and to perform in public.

The ensemble aims to give at least two concerts per year and to support local community events wherever possible.

BWE and Adopt-a-Composer

BWE is delighted to be selected as one of only 6 music groups to benefit from this scheme, funded by PRSF and operated by Making Music and spnm. The BWE will be working with composer Christopher Hussey, who will write a new piece of music for us based on our composition and ideas.

PRSFoundation - for new music

We plan to perform the premiere of this piece at one of our regular concerts. We are all very excited at the idea of working with a composer and doing the first performance of a brand new work, and very grateful to Making Music, spnm and the PRSF for the opportunity.
